"The Arc of History"

For most of you that know me, i'm not huge into politics. But this election was moving. And proved to be far more then just an election. It really moved me. Humility, support, and promise. Here's to the next 4 years.

Lizelle, Don't Be Sad.

See, there are better things than downloading American television.

Swoon, Swoon With Me

Swoon in the Middle of two other artists who call themselves 'The Twins'
Yesterday me and a few friends braved the G train & legged it out to Queens to check out the art installment of Swoon, a 28-Year-Old NYC street artist. Her work is already highly recognizable, seen all over the city, paper cutouts pasted on walls, left to decompose naturally with the elements.
It was an amazing show. Amazing. I don't have any pictures of the show yet, but i'm going back to see the gallery again this weekend. So if anyone wants to join... feel free. I'll probably be there for a few hours though. Beware.

More to come.

Banksy's in Town Kids

I'm going to speak yet again about Banksy, one of my favorite artists. Thanks to Jackie Mac, i was informed that Banksy was in the greater New York area recently. He's got an installation in the *West* Village right now (thanks for the correction Jax-- My apologies to all the westside villager folks out there) that will be open to the public until October 31st. Its called the Village Pet Shop. Its like nothing hes ever done before, its a bit bizarre, but its Banksy. I'm super stoked to go next weekend.
He's also tagged all over the lower Manhattan (i wish he would have come to Brooklyn), so i'm gonna scour the streets looking for his stuff. FUN. I think my friend Raech is gonna join in teh festivities as well. FUN times 2. So I'll keep you updated with pictures and such.

Soho tag, my new momentary favorite Banksy piece

Work of Banksy's on Canal street-- check it out when youre buying fake designer sunglasses please.

The Thrift of Seattle

The last 12 hours (ish) i was in Seattle, i took a walk up & down the Ave with Spiro, going in and out of thrift stores and vintage stores along the way. I was hell bent on not buying anything due to the airlines new policy of paying an ass-load of cash to check bags. But the minute i laid eyes on this gem of a coat, i knew it had to be mine. The price was right ($12.00), the coat was reversible, and I got the 'OK' from Spiro, so i snatched it up.
Thus far in the NYC fall, its saved my ass. Its been a bit chilly and this Holden Caulfield-esk coat is keeping me high and dry. 2 points for Seattle Thriftiness.

The Hair.

As an appropriate first blog in a long time i think its noteworth you say: I cut all my hair off about a month ago. This is how it turned out. I'm totally all about it. Fun stuff. My friend Jules cut it for me, and did a smashing job.
